Spring Forward: Hottest Trends for Spring 2017

Hello loves, I know it has been a while since my last blog post, but I'm back! This week we had to set our clocks forward, which means that Spring has officially sprung. Spring is one of my favorite seasons, since it's not too hot and not too cold, it's just right, and Spring fashion is always a lot of fun. There are a lot of trends this season, but I have narrowed it down to my favorites.

The Ballet Trend- The ballet trend was seen all over the runway by designers such as: Valentino, Celine, Acne Studios, and much more. Think ballerina inspired flats, wrap-up heels, soft tones of pink, romantic hemlines, and long flowy skirts. The updated ballet flats with black straps and buckles, gives the look a rocker chic vibe. I've already purchased a pair of Sam Edelman ballet flats and I will do a blog post soon showing how I would style the ballet trend.

The Ballet Trend
Valentino lace up heel booties, $1,050 / Miu Miu ballerina flat shoes / Topshop black block heel pumps, $51 / Tory Burch ballerina pumps / Sam Edelman beige ballet flat, $100 / Sam Edelman wide ballet flat

The Corset Trend- Corsets were iconic on women back in the 16th and 17th centuries and they have made a comeback, but in a more fashionable way. Corsets are no longer being worn under garments, but worn as a fashion statement. You can pair a corset belt over a white shirtdress or wear it on its own as a top.

 The Corset Trend

Dolce Gabbana mesh corset, $1,100 / Johanna Ortiz flutter sleeve top, $950 / Folies By Renaud satin corset, $135 / Witchery belt, $45 / Alaïa belt

The Pearl Trend- Pearls were seen all over the runway; tops, bottoms, jackets, and shoes. My favorite part of the trend is seeing pearl embellishments on shoes. Pearls are so classy and elegant, that embellishing it on a pair of high heeled strappy sandals gives it a ladylike look with an edge. I've already purchased a pair of black flats from Zara that has pearl detailing around the ankles.

The Pearl Trend

Gucci leather shoes, $980 / Nicholas Kirkwood leather shoes / René Caovilla leather sandals, $845 / Steve Madden black dress shoes / Steve Madden leather sandals / Pointy toe flat / Charlotte Russe pointy toe flat / Freshwater pearl necklace, $61

Khaki Trend- Designers used khaki in different variations from dresses, oversized jackets, pants, and much more. I've always been a fan.

Khaki

Topshop dress, $42 / Alexis white cold shoulder top / Sexy crop top / Miss Selfridge party shirt / Alice You brown blazer / Diane Von Furstenberg scalloped skirt / River Island high waisted trousers, $46 / Faith Connexion camoflauge pants / Black heeled shoes / Yves saint laurent shoes, $610 / Steve Madden high heel stiletto / Long wearing lipstick

Single Shoulder Trend-Exposed shoulders were in most of 2016 and now the cold shoulder trend is back with a twist, with only exposing one shoulder. I loved the cold shoulder trend, it's just enough sexiness without going overboard. The single shoulder trend will be interesting to pull off.

Fashion's obsession with shoulders rages on, manifesting itself in strategically placed cutouts for maximum impact.
